Pereira not fooled by Sporting's formBelenenses to 'play to their strengths' Another Lisbon derby will take place at the Alvalade tomorrow when Sporting host local rivals Belenenses. The Azuis have lost three out of their last four fixtures, drawing the other, and will not take Sporting lightly despite the recent set of circumstances.
Sporting are coming off a loss to FC Porto, but did manage to pick up a win in mid-week action against Hertha Berlin and the victory was anything but convincing. If that were not bad enough, Sporting will be without Miguel Veloso, Anderson Polga and Paulo Bento as all three are susupended for the derby. But for Joao Carlos Pereira, the Belenenses coach doesn't think that Sporting will be handicaped as he would rather focus on his team's tactics and capabilities rather than his adversary's. "Sporting's bad moment is misleading. We know that they are a strong opponent with a lot of potential," said Pereira. "We wil lnot be focusing on the adversary's weaknesses, but on our strengths." "This team is not prepared to engage in any type of speculation, but to go to the Alvalade and fight for the three points."
