It's a good match to shed our image - Pereira

Belenenses looking to get on track against Porto

joaocarlospereira.jpgIt will be David vs. Goliath at the Dragao tomorrow when FC Porto host lowly Belenenses. In most people's minds a win for the reigning Portuguese champions is expected, but for Joao Carlos Pereira this is a fixture that can work in the Belem's side's favour.

The Azuis are sitting near the bottom of the table, were recently eliminated from the Carlsberg Cup and their last victory came in the second round of the championship.

There is not much going for Belenenses, and some might think that the Portuguese coach is delusional, but Pereira would rather see the cup as half full rather than half empty.

"I think this will be a good match to shed our image from the last game (1-1 draw against Gil Vicente) because we will be facing great players, a wonderful team in a difficult stadium," explained Pereira. "It will be a match which will demand complicity and an attitude for us to overcome."

"To prevail we will need more intensity within the game. The players must respect the organisation that is asked of them on the field more so and we need much more ambition."
