Quim shelved for six months

Goalkeeper to return in the new year

quim.jpgOnly days after having rejoined Sporting Braga, the club were dealt a blow as Quim suffered a rupture to his Achilles tendon in his right foot and will be forced to sit out for the next six months.

The 34-year-old net-minder rejoined the club after spending six years with Benfica and his return could not have started worse as the goalkeeper will require surgery to repair the damage.

The setback that Quim has suffered might mean that Portugal international Eduardo will remain with the club unless the Arsenalistas can find a replacement before the season commences.

Currently, aside from Eduardo, Braga have Diego Silva as their only other shot-stopper as the club traded Kieszek to FC Porto for Helder Barbosa earlier this week.
