Braga tie down Mossoro and attempt to keep hold of RodriguezNortherners striving to remain among frontrunners in Portugal Braga have signalled their intentions to remain one of Portugal’s strongest teams by tying down midfielder Marcio Mossoro and attempting to keep hold of Sporting target Alberto Rodriguez.
The northern club have already lost coach Domingos Paciencia (to Sporting), goalkeeper Artur (to Benfica) and defender Silvio (to Atletico Madrid).
But midfield dynamo Mossoro indicated straight after the Europa League final last Wednesday that he would like to remain at Braga, and the 27-year-old was as good as his word, signing on the dotted line on an extended contract until the end of the 2013/14 season.
The Brazilian was snapped up by Braga in 2007 after a highly impressive first season in Portugal at Maritimo. “I’m very grateful. It’s recognition of what I have done over the years at Braga,” Mossoro said on the club’s official website.
Will he stay or will he go?It was widely expected that centre-back Rodriguez would be following Domingos to the Alvalade, but Braga appear willing to invest some of the money made from their European exploits and the Silvio transfer to keep the defender at the AXA stadium. The Peruvian has remained guarded about his future, admitting he would not be averse to remaining at the Arsenalistas.

Looks Braga are shaping up for a CL run for next year.
Meyong's one of Braga's best paid players so Braga may let him go.
Meyong?
Now that's funny.
I'm sorry for being off topic as well it just bothers me a bit.
I'm sure the new manager will start Meyong and he'll use his great finishing skills to get them over the top.
Sorry, couldnt resist.
Bryan I do love your passion for your club. Actually I admire it, and that's no joke.
I too would like for Braga to remain relevant in European play. I was very inpressed with their league play, while competing in Europa. It's not easy to be compete on all fronts.
I do expect a drop, just due to the managerial change and possible player losses. And let me add that Guimaraes only finished 3 points back (1 losss). Amazingly, it was Guimaraes play at home that let them down.
Like I've mentioned before, next season should be outstanding due to the fight for that 3rd Champions League spot. Keep in mind will also hold a much more advantageous position in the Champions League.
