Braga snap up Djamal

Beira-Mar midfielder signs 4-year contract at the AXA Stadium

DjamalSporting Braga have added an important piece to the jigsaw of what will be a rebuilt squad for the 2011/12 season. Libyan born midfielder Djamal has made the move from Beira-Mar, signing a four-year contract.

“I’ve signed for a top club in Portugal, which was a dream of mine since I was a child,” Djamal said on the club’s official website.

“Sporting Braga are today one of the most organised and ambitious clubs in Portugal, which is why I immediately accepted the invitation. I’m proud to be able to wear this shirt and I promise I will give everything I’ve got to respect this badge.”

The combative 28-year-old midfielder has been at Beira-Mar for the last three years. He was a major driving force in their promotion back up to the Liga ZON Sagres in 2009/10.

Djamal, whose full name is Abdoulaye Mahamat Bindi, was again outstanding this season as the Aveiro club kept hold of their place in Portugal’s top division with surprising ease, despite a threadbare squad.
