APOEL’s Paulo Jorge targeting Porto scalp

Defender should make bench for Dragons visit

Former Braga defender Paulo Jorge is expected to be handed a place on the APOEL bench for Tuesday’s match with Porto, and the Portuguese stopper is optimistic of his team’s chances of an upset.

Paulo Jorge has suffered with injuries of late, having been out of action for six weeks, but the 29-year-old should be in the match squad for the match at the GSP Stadium, where he concedes that Jesualdo Ferreira’s men will be strong favourites.

“It will be difficult, as it was at the Estadio Dragao, but in front of our fans it will be a different story,” Jorge told the press. “Our opponents are better, we know the difficulties we have, but that should not stop us from fighting for our first victory in the Champions League group phase.

“We recognise that FC Porto are not as strong as last season. But their result against Belenenses will have no negative influence on their team performance in the next match, taking into account the experience of the players in blue and white. This can actually work in their favour, because they will want to show the fans that the last result doesn’t reflect their quality.”

This very imparcial website are amazing in what it means to do a coverage about the portuguese players and football around europe.
This one I never heard about him, thanks Porto to play Champions League and agaist this team, that's not all days that he can play in this competion against teams like Chelsea (that they also have portuguese players, coincidence that they've all played at Porto), Atletico Madrid and twice Europa and World Clubs Champions Porto.
I hope next fase of Champions League can play against Juve(Tiago) or Inter(Mourinho, Quaresma), ManU (Nani) or even Valladolid (Pele), Malaga (Duda, Edinho), Lazio (Eliseu), Racing (Ze Antonio, Jorge Gonçalves), Hannover (Sergio Pinto), Rangers (Pedro Mendes) or even Bolton (Vaz Tê) to have another coverage to the portuguese players on that clubs.
Ah! By the way, I am still waiting the coverage to the portuguese player named Geraldo that plays on AEK Athens.

It could be also a good new to this website the new ranking IFFHS refering to the octuber month, not because Porto (the team from Argentina or northern Spain) is on 15 in front of Inter, Lyon, Liverpool or Juventus, but because on first is ManU of Nani. He also deserves some love from the portuguese public and portuguese football lovers around the world.
Thanks to public my comment and best regards to all!
