Fit again Bosingwa earns Ancelotti praise

Defender makes impressive return

Jose Bosingwa started his first competitive match in over 12 months yesterday against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti praised the Portugal international’s performance.

Bosingwa, who last started a match for the Blues in October 2009, lasted 78 minutes before being replaced by Paulo Ferreira. The former Porto right-back looked as if he had never been away, delivering a typically dynamic display as Chelsea won 2-0 to stay top of the Premier League.

The 28-year-old was given a fifteen-minute runout last weekend at Aston Villa, and Ancelotti was delighted with what he saw yesterday after deciding to play Bosingwa from the start.

“Bosingwa was one the best players on the pitch,' said the Italian. “He put a lot of pressure on in the second half by pushing up without the ball and he had opportunities to score. For 70 minutes he played very well and he is an important player for us in the future.

“He took the right time for recovery, he was comfortable to play and he was excited before the game and this is very good news for us.”

Things are looking good again, when fit Bosingwa is a beast, i am worried about his future with Chelsea go, im worried that if he gets injured anymore they wont resign his contract, eveyone knows he is a gun player, however if i was an owner id be getting frustrated seeing that much quality on the sidelines so much.

Congratulations! A year is a long time to be out and I'm really happy for Bosingwa to be back and fully fit. He's going to make Chelsea that much more scary to play against. I can't wait to see him back in a Portugal shirt. What a difference it would have made to have both bosingwa and nani on the pitch at the world cup.

Can't wait to see him in action with the national team. There's lots of talk about Ferreira, and I'm glad he's doing well, but a couple of good games still doesn't turn him into the same caliber of player as Bosingwa. I'm looking forward to seeing Coentrão on one flank and Bosingwa on the other - finally!

The seleccao has been playing so well recently that I almost forgot about Bosingwa. When he is in top form, he is without a doubt one of the best rightbacks in the world. We can finally face the best national team in the world with a full strength seleccao. The defense of Coentrao, Pepe, Carvalho, and Bosingwa is easily the best in the world.

I would not be surprised if we beat spain because we have the quality to do so.

Bosingwa and Coentrao will tear it up for Portugal!

Along with Nani, Bos was a major player missing at the World Cup. Imagine we had him instead of Costa against Spain?
