Deco laments Chelsea’s treatment of Scolari

Midfielder still hoping for Blues exit

decoPortuguese international Deco says he is still keen on leaving Chelsea, and has revealed his unhappiness at the way the Premiership club handled the sacking of Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Former Porto midfielder Deco followed Scolari to Stamford Bridge in a big-money move from Barcelona last summer, and the Brazilian-born playmaker enjoyed a bright start to life in England. However, Deco’s form soon tailed off and Scolari was dismissed in February after a poor run of results.

“I had a difficult year,” Deco admitted. “I arrived with Felipao. Things started well but then I had many injury problems. I had many problems with the medical department and did not feel I recovered right.

“Honestly, I did not like the experience at Chelsea. I'm looking for another club where I can feel good. I know Inter is talking to Chelsea. 'The president of Inter said as much. I would play there.

“Chelsea are a special club. But if Felipao was perhaps at Chelsea,  Manchester United or Liverpool, they respect the coach and give him time to work.

“You look at Wenger (at Arsenal) who for five years hasn't won anything. Benitez has never won the English championship. Chelsea are different, a special club, who have a single owner and they are kind of his toy.

'Sometimes (owner) Abramovich makes decisions that go over the head of the director of  football. The exit of Scolari was rash.”

I note Deco wasn't too worried about taking the wages - the guy has all the personal honour of a bottom-feeder. If he felt so strongly about Scolari why didn't he stand up and say something at the time he was sacked? He's only saying it now because he's been such a total failure - so, of course, it all has to be the club's fault. A few people said at the time he arrived that the premier league was going to be too tough for him plus that he'd been part of the dressing room problems at Barca - looks to me like they were right on the money. After Deco and 'Dinho went Barca became a far better side - so the sooner this little prat and his fellow portu-whinger Carvalho are gone the better!

I have never heard so much whinging,or so many excuses from a once very good footballer. Yes,he kept up with the pace, and played quite well at first, but could not maintain this and looked slower and slower, and it was obvious that he was too old or tired for the Premiership.Good luck to Jose if he signs him, he will need it!
