Maniche leaves CologneMidfielder a free agent Former Portugal international Maniche has rescinded his contract with German Bundesliga club Cologne, leaving him free to find a new team this summer.
Maniche still had one season left on his two-year deal with Cologne, but having recently admitted that he was unsettled in Germany, the club have taken the opportunity to remove one of the highest earners from their wage bill. General Manager Michael Meier said of the decision: “We have met Maniche’s desire to go back with his family to his home country of Portugal. We are grateful to Maniche for the work he did with FC Cologne and wish him and his family all the best for the future.” Related article: Unhappy Maniche eyeing Portugal return Maniche made a total of 30 appearances in all competitions in the 2009/10 campaign, with 26 coming in the Bundesliga and a further 4 in cup competitions. Maniche might have enough left to produce here and there, but he isn't a difference maker.
Sporting needs more than one difference maker, and if they sign Maniche, it will just be a feel good signing.
For me he's done, so what will briging him do exactly.
