French club confess to talking to striker

The transfer of Lisandro Lopez to Lyon has gained a little more steam as the president of the French side, Jean-Michel Aulas, has admitted to approaching the player, but advised that a deal has not been reached between him and his counterpart at FC Porto.

Aulas spoke to French radio station Europe 1 and stated clearly that coach Claude Puell is a great admirer of the Argentinean ace, but that negotiations are ongoing as the club are attempting to convince Porto to release their grip on the 20m-euro valuation.

"We have had contact with the player's agent, and whom the coach is pleased with, but the situation is far from being resolved," said Aulas.

Vignal confirms contact

French left-back Gregory Vignal has told France Football that the Portuguese champions have enquired about his availability.

The former Montpellier defender has been on loan with Lens this past season via Southhampton, but will not be returning to St. Mary's as the club were relegated to League One.

"FC Porto and Stoke City have asked, but I am waiting for something concrete," claimed the 27-year-old. "The Portuguese cub have been after me for a few months now. They got together with my agent this past winter."

The likelihood of the well travelled Frenchman arriving at the Dragao is not great considering that the club acquired Alvaro Pereira and failed with the transfer of Aly Cissokho.
