Cissokho deal weighs in the balanceMilan undecided on left-back
The on again, off again deal involving the FC Porto left-back has taken another twist as the Italian giants are sending out mixed messages as regards their interest in the former Vitoria Setubal player. Cissokho's agent, Roger Boli, claimed that the two clubs had come back to the table in an attempt to salvage the original deal which would have seen the player move to Italy in a 15m-euro move. Now the Rossoneri's vice-president, Adriano Galliani, has left everyone scratching their heads after his latest comments have suggested that Milan are no longer interested in signing the player, and could be employing a negotiating tactic by remaining aloof about the whole process. "I have been friends with the FC Porto president (Pinto da Costa) for many years and it is true what has been said. We signed a contract with a handshake, but it was only dependent on the medical exams," exclaimed Galliani. "There were physical problems found and under the written examination from the medcial staff, we could not resolve this (issue) any other way." "If these problems did not exist, he (Cissokho) would have come to Milan, without a doubt." Galliani's explanation suggests that any deal involving Cissokho is dead and buried, but the Italian executive left the issue wide open with what he said afterwards. "There are no timelines and things have not ended. He could arrive (at Milan) later." The one story that just does not seem to end and will, perhaps, drag on a while longer yet is the saga surrounding Aly Cissokho's supposed transfer to AC Milan.
