Bolatti joins Viola

Midfielder to try hand at Serie A

bolatti.pngIt's official as FC Porto have offloaded disgruntled midfielder Mario Bolatti to Italian side ACF Fiorentina.

With the recent acquisition of Ruben Micael and the player's desire to not want to return to the Portuguese club, Bolatti got his wish and will now have another shot at playing in Europe.

Details of the deal have not been disclosed, but early reports out of Italy indicate the Florence outfit splashed 8 million euros for the Argentine international.

The reinging Portuguese champions signed the 24-year-old back in 2007 in a 2 million euros deal, for 60% ownership, from Belgrano. But Bolatti never settled with Porto, having made only 19 appearances in a season and a half with the Dragoes.

The South American was then loaned out to Huracan and made quite the impression having scored 5 goals in 26 appearances, even earning himself 4 caps with the Argentina national team.

The proceeds from the sale of Bolatti will, most likely,  go towards the purchase of new boy Micael.

I think he will do well in Italy. He has the makings of a class player but it didn't work out for him in Porto.

I think at a smaller club like Fiorentina he could shine!

Ruben Micael's "price" was 3 millions and Boltatti were sold out by 8 millions with only 19 appearances on Porto and not convencing at all. I would like to watch another opportunity on Porto but too late now and Ruben have to prove the good player he is.
I wish luck to both!
