Official: Porto complete Kleber buy, Farias leaves
Brazilian striker purchased in cash plus player deal
FC Porto have officially announced the purchase of striker Kleber from Brazilian club Cruzeiro. Argentine striker Ernesto Farias goes in the opposite direction as part of the deal.
As reported earlier, Porto have moved to further strengthen their squad by bringing in Kleber for the second half of the season as they chase silverware on four fronts.
In line with legal requirements, the club issued a statement to the Portuguese stock market, explaining that an agreement in principle has been agreed whereby Porto will pay Cruzeiro 5.5 million euros plus Farias in exchange for Kleber. The Portuguese champions also retain a 25% stake in the ownership of Farias.
The transfer will be completed upon the players involved completing their routine medical tests. The duration of Kleber’s contract has not been disclosed.
