genoa have awesome fans and great history. amazing environment to play in, especially the derbys! plus beautiful places to live. all these things must enter a players mind when he decides where to play. much better than getting depressed by sitting on a bench and living in an ugly place.

It sounds to me like a mistake on the part of Braga's leadership and Eduardo's agent. After the world cup he had, I'm sure he could've commanded much more than 4.5 mil. I know I may be biased, but I didn't see any other keepers making saves like he did against the kind of opposition that he faced. I think he was the class keeper of this tournament.

I think somebody else already mentioned it, but the bright side of not going to Manchester United or Arsenal is that he will definitely start right away and won't have to compete as much for his position.

Still, I would've loved to see him play at Old Trafford or the Emirates. I know Arsenal really need a keeper and he's much better than freaking Almunia or the other trash keeper they have, Fabianski.

Maybe the world cup wasn't enough? Perhaps he just needs more exposure in the European game. The only problem is that he will only be playing in Italy next season, since Genoa did not qualify for the Europa League.

Well, if he has the kind of season that he had last year with Braga, I don't see how teams can continue to ignore him. I just don't know if he'll get enough exposure playing for a team like Genoa. He may be forced to light it up at Euro 2012 before he moves to a big club.

Manchester United and Arsenal were other teams that were also interested in him he could of at least considered those clubs. Anyways, Genoa is a pretty decent club in Italy they have been top half of Serie A the past few seasons and all of us can only wish him the best of luck.

The key is that he is likely getting first team action which is great. We have had several Portuguese goalies in the EPL but they just sit on the bench are become useless.

Genova is not a great team, but they are better than braga and they play in a better league. They are a mid table that has the quality to be 6th or 7th in the league so I think this will help eduardo develop and maybe he will move onto an even better team next year.

Why go to a bottom level team in Italy? I guess in a way I am happy that he is going to play in a good defensive tactical league. He will learn a lot over there especially organizing a defense and he will also face some great attacking players as well. It only helps the Seleccao but I think he could have waited longer and a couple teams in England would have been coming around, Maybe Man U to back up Van Der Sar who is retiring soon.

Braga would have never sold Eduardo to Benfica. They would have been crucified if they had.
I also feel that Genoa got him on the cheap.

Unfortunately, it looks as if Braga is looking to cash in on last years great run, instead of trying to do it again.
