Guimaraes land Joao PauloDefender signs three-year deal Vitoria Guimaraes continue to fine-tune their squad ahead of the transfer deadline as the club announced that they have signed the former FC Porto stopper to a multi-year deal.
The 29-year-old was without a club after having rescinded his contract with French club Le Mans earlier this summer due to a wage dispute. Being a free agent, Vitoria wasted little time in snapping up the central defender. "I am very motivated to have returned and play in the Portuguese championship," stated the one-time Uniao de Leiria man. "That being said, it is stimulating for any player to represent a club the size of Vitoria's. I expect to contribute to the success of this team."
