Valdomiro and Guimaraes part waysClub also signs 20-year-old goalkeeper The saga between Vitoria Guimaraes and Valdomiro has come to an expected end as the club officially announced through their website that the central defender has been released from his contract by mutual consent.
The 31-year-old stopper had one more year remaining in his contract, but was the subject of disciplinary action imposed by the club for comments he made after the team's opening match against Olhanense. The centre-back had told the press that he would not relinquish his portion of his transfer rights to aid the club in a potential sale and added that he never received a signing bonus when he joined the Afonsinhos in 2010 from Al-Wasl. Guimaraes did not take too lightly to the Brazilian's disposition and had suspended Valdomiro indefinitely, until now. Giovanaz signsThe club also made a goalkeeping signing as Guimaraes acquired Belenenses netminder Assis Giovanaz.
