Guimaraes capture Fabio Felicio

Club's first signing for the new year

fabio_felicio.jpgVitoria Guimaraes announced and presented former Rubin Kazan player Fabio Felicio (pictured middle) as the midfielder signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the minhoto side.

Felicio arrives on a free transfer after having rescinded his contract with the Russian club back in September. Sicne then the ex-Leiria man had been training with Louletano in order to keep in shape.

The 27-year-old is delighted to have put pen to paper with the vimarense and feels that the move will help boost his career.

"I want to say that I am happy to be representing Vitoria which, for me, is one of the big clubs in Portugal," said the elated Felicio. "Vitoria have given me this opportunity and now I want to help the club achieve their objectives."

"Vitoria are experiencing a good run of form and I expect it to continue until the end of the season. With the quality players that Vitoria have, along with the massive support, Vitoria can only, and deserve, to be at the top."

"Clearly, this is the ideal club for me to re-launch my career. I spent some yeas abroad and things did not go well, but that is now part of the past. My thoughts are squarely on the present and helping Vitoria."

Despite not having been involved in a competitive match in months, Felicio feels that he will be match-ready in no time with the aid of his new coaches.

"I have been training, but it's matches that provide rhythm. We will work together to get it back. I, along with the coaching staff, will analyse my physical condition. Today I will train a little."
