Farias and Sa on way to Guimaraes?

Porto strikers could make moves to Liga rivals

orlando-sa3.jpgfarias-20090216.jpgWith very little playing time being given to them with FC Porto, Ernesto Farias and Orlando Sa could see ways out of the Estadio do Dragao as the pair are targets of Vitoria Guimaraes.

Well...sort of, anyway. The Minho club are currently undergoing elections to elect a new president and one candidate, Manuel Pinto Brasil, has received authorisation from Porto that, should he win the election, he will be granted access to speak to the duo.

Farias has fallen way down the pecking order at Porto and was on the verge of completing a move to Cruzeiro during the January transfer window, as part of a package deal, only for it to collapse at the eleventh hour as the Portuguese champions couldn't come to terms with target Kleber.

Meanwhile, Sa has had a season to forgot as the 21-year-old starlet has had a horrendous time since joining the Dragons form Sporting Braga in the off-season.

Sa has missed most of the season due to a severe knee injury, which required surgical intervention, and forced the youngster to miss seven months of action.

The former Braga player is now seen as surplus to requirements and will be able to resurrect his career at Guimaraes should Brasil win the election and come to terms with his potential new employers.

The election for the Guimaraes presidency is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the Pavilhao do Vitoria Sport Clube between 9am-7pm (local time).
