Guimaraes keen on Machado & BentoMinhoto club start looking for Sergio's replacement![]() Vitoria Guimaraes are wasting no time in finding a manager for next season. With the imminent departure of Paulo Sergio to Sporting, the names of Manuel Machado and Paulo Bento are currently floating in the vimarense orbit.
The club's vice-president, Paulo Pereira, spoke with Renascenca about Guimaraes' progress and the executive clearly admitted that Manuel Machado, who is poised to leave Nacional at the end of the year, and Paulo Bento are two individuals that the club do like, but added that no contact has been established with either. "Manuel Machado, obviously, could be a coach that interests Vitoria Guimaraes, as he does other clubs, but we have not spoken with Mr. Manual Machado - and I can guarantee this - nor have we spoken with any other individuals," confirmed Pereira. "He (Machado) could be a coach that we might contact, just like many others who are well positioned to represent Vitoria Guimaraes. We are taking care of this issue and at the right moment, it will be revealed who the coach will be for next season." As for the former Sporting coach, Pereira added that Bento is "free and a strong possibility." by Marco Pereira Add your comment |
