Coaching in Spain is in my plans - MourinhoInter boss responds to speculation Jose Mourinho has once again admitted that he intends to work in Spanish football, but insists he will not make any decisions on his future until after the Champions League final.
The Portuguese coach is preparing his Inter side for their final two matches of the season, at the end of which the Nerazurri could win an unprecedented treble. First Mourinho’s men travel to Siena in Serie A on Sunday needing a point to claim the Scudetto, before meeting Bayern Munich in the European Cup final the following Saturday. Despite his impeding success in Italy, Mourinho continues to be linked with Spanish side Real Madrid. Cornered by Madrid-based newspaper AS when receiving his award for World’s Best Coach by IFFHS in London, the former Porto boss repeated his desire to take a job in La Liga at some point. “The immediate priorities are to beat Siena to secure the Scudetto and then do the same against Bayern Munich to lift the European Cup,” Mourinho said. “The rest, we will see. I told my agent, Jorge Mendes, that I will not discuss the matter before the 23rd of May after the Champions League final. “The immediate objectives are as I said, but I do still have things I would like to do in football. Of course, it is in my plans to work in Spain. Also, I want to be Portugal coach one day, but that will be when I’m older, in fifteen or twenty years. “Have I spoken with Real Madrid? No, personally I only speak with Inter.” By Sean Gillen Keep up to date with all the latest news on Portuguese football with the new PortuGOAL Twitter! |
