Augusto Inacio appointed Leixoes coachExperienced manager confident of quick return to top flight Augusto Inacio has been presented as the new Leixoes manager. The experienced Portuguese manager will be managing in the Liga de Honra (Portuguese 2nd tier) next season, but firmly believes he and his team will not be there for long.
After failing to reach an agreement with Naval, Inacio quickly found himself a new job. Despite dropping down a league, he sees Leixoes as “a step forward in my career”. The following was quoted on the
“I am sure and almost absolutely certain, along with everyone’s help, will be playing in the Liga Sagres next season. There are two promotion places, but who thinks about second place won’t win promotion, therefore it’s best to think about first place and fight for it. This is our single objective.”
Augusto Inacio had a brilliant season with Naval in 2009/10 as he guided the modest outfit to a record high 8th place finish and the semi-finals of the Portuguese Cup.
