Leixoes snap up BenitezFC Porto defender move across the city Leixoes have contracted FC Porto left-back Benitez on loan until the end of the season. The 25-year-old Argentine is delighted to make the move to city rivals Leixoes, and says he hopes to help Jose Mota’s team repeat last season’s heroics in the Liga Sagres.
Nelson Benitez was bought by FC Porto from Lanus of Argentina one year ago, but was unable to break into the first team. He was close to signing for “I’ve come with a huge desire to work hard and show the coach that I can help the team,” he said. “I reached an agreement with FC Porto and I’m happy to be at a club that played a great championship last season.”
