Friendlies wrap: Sporting crash to defeat in France
Braga, Beira-Mar and Naval clock up wins
Sporting fell to a 4-2 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in their final friendly match in France last night. Back in Portugal there were wins for Braga, Beira-Mar and Naval.
In Evian-Les-Bains, France, Sporting and PSG played out an error-strewn game. The Portuguese outfit were two goals to the good inside four minutes, thanks to a comical own goal from PSG goalkeeper Apoula and a Daniel Carrico header.
Midway through the first half the Parisians were level as Erding and Giuly took advantage of hesitant defending to score. After the break Sessegnon hit the net after a goalmouth scramble and the unmarked Maurice ended the scoring.

Despite the defeat, coach Paulo Sergio put a positive spin on the training camp in France. “The balance of the training camp is positive. And this result was good to understand if we are going down the right road or not, if this style and this formation is what we want for the team.”
Braga looking good
Sporting Braga look in good touch as they continue to prepare for the upcoming Champions League qualifiers. The Arsenalistas were the invited team as Liga de Honra club Gil Vicente presented their new side to their fans, but Domingos Paciencia’s men were anything but gracious guests.
Two more goals from ex-Belenenses striker Lima (pictured above) and strikes from Meyong and Moises gave Braga a thumping 4-1 win.
In two other matches pitting top-flight clubs against second-tier teams, newly promoted Beira-Mar beat Penafiel 1-0 thanks to a Leandro Tatu goal, while Naval overcame Oliveirense 2-1. Lupede and Joao Pedro scored the goals for Naval.
