about fcp being the team that represents portugal abroad, I'm Irish and over here, it's benfica's 60s european wins that are remembered, not porto's success recently. and that's for one reason...josé mourinho. now i know Ireland may not be a big football power or a big country but i don't think that demeans what people over here think..
unfortunately we don't portuguese league games on tv over here since setanta and espn stopped showing them a few seasons ago, but when benfica or porto is in europe, they mention our european history, and your mourinho
essentially, if mourinho had gone on to do nothing after winning it all with porto, at least over here, it would have been seen as porto success, but it isn't, mourinho went on to win big at chelsea and inter, and maybe madrid, so it's seen as mourinho success
