Academica down Sporting at AlvaladeSporting 1-2 Academica Sporting suffered their third consecutive defeat last night after Joao Ribeiro’s second-half strike gave Academica their first away league victory of the season.Having lost 5-2 to Porto in midweek in the Portuguese Cup, Sporting were desperate to get back to winning ways in the capital. However, despite the presence of new signing Pedro Mendes in midfield, goals from Orlando (3’) and Ribeiro (59’) either side of a Joao Moutinho effort saw the Lions’ crisis worsen.
