Malaga sack coach Ferreira - reportEarly departure for Portuguese Former Porto coach Jesualdo Ferreira’s stint in charge of Spanish club Malaga looks to have been cut short after just four months, with reports in Spain claiming the former Dragons boss has been sacked.
Ferreira took charge of the Andalucian club in June, having left Porto at the end of last season. However, things have not gone well for the 64-year-old in La Liga, with Malaga sitting in 18th place in the league after the weekend’s 2-1 home defeat to Real Sociedad. As a result, Spanish daily Marca claims that Malaga owner, Qatari sheik Abdullah ben Nasser Al Thani, has decided to terminate Ferreira’s contract. According to the report, the news was communicated to the Portuguese over the phone on Tuesday morning, with the club already identifying Manuel Pellegrini as a potential replacement. Malaga have taken just one point from their last five matches and have seven points from their opening nine games so far this season. I've seen some Malaga's game. That's true that Malaga do not have one of the best teams in spanish league. But that's also true he was not very versatile with his team and insisted in some players that, in my opinion, weren't on the best form (e.g Apoño). At least, Jesualdo had the time to find and "create" a little bit of one of my predictions of a great forward in the future - Jose Salomon Rondón. Don't forget this name.
Fresh/Canada, with all of respect, but that's funny your post. Now the benfiquistas weren't at all unhappy with Quique, he was doing a great job at SLB... but Quique prefered to return Spain to stay some months without a job drinking beers and eating "tapas" until someone could hire him.
And yes, SLB was defeated on EL only because of Torres. I would like to remind that Torres had one of their worst seasons last years (and looks that goes on this year), as we can see for e.g the number of goals in EL (only 2, all against SLB). Can we charge SLB EL defeat against Liverpool because of world class striker Torres that curiously had the worst season of his carreer? As still having this season him and all Liverpool team?
SLB lost to their own fault and due to the theater and options of JJ at Anfield.
And Atletico won the competition because they had the best striker in shape of Europe last season - Diego Forlán.
The poor run of results was just the excuse they needed to get rid of him.
Where next for him and Paulo Sousa?
oliver you are a joke people dont take you seriously jus tto let you know
Benfica has nothing to do with this article yet you keep coming on here and making bull. Go back to cheering on your berlin club that Benfica crushed last year. Or did you already switch bandwagons to the next team Benfica is facing.
Get some help son, Malaga/Jesualdo does not equal Benfica/Quique/Europa League
Didn't Benfica beat Liverpool in 2005 in the Champions League?
So winning the Europa League is worse than getting fired by Malaga and leaving the team in 18th place?
I'm not following any of what you just posted, but then again I don't think anyone really does.
