Video: Nunes nets winner for high-flying Mallorca; Simao magic for AtleticoSpain round-upNunes arrived at the back post to head home a deep free-kick ten minutes from time, netting his third league goal of the campaign. Fellow Portuguese Bruno China was introduced in the closing minutes for Mallorca, who are exceeding all expectations with their form this season. Mallorca move into 4th place because Sevilla were beaten at relegation-battlers Real Zaragoza on Sunday evening. Eliseu - a winter signing for Zaragoza - played 69 minutes before being replaced, while Sevilla ended the match with nine men and the hosts with ten after a flurry of late red cards. Simao Sabrosa was again in the thick of the action as Atletico Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw at Racing Santander. The Portugal winger created the opener for Diego Forlan with an outstanding defence-splitting pass, but with Simao and Tiago on the pitch for the full match, Atletico conceded to Gonzalo Colsa before the break and were unable to find another breakthrough. Elsewhere, Duda played the full match for Malaga in their goalless draw with Deportivo La Coruna, who left Ze Castro on the bench. Miguel was also an unused substitute for Valencia, who also did not include Manuel Fernandes in a 2-0 win over Valladolid. Vitor Pele was introduced at half time for the visitors. VAAAAAREEEEELLLLLAAAAAAAAAA
Nunes looks a consistent defender, I can bet he's on better form now than Zé Castro from Deportivo.
Are you saying Simao is better than varela cuz of more experience? Thats why we always lose because we dont give good players a shot. Varela is faster, and works harder than simao. Simao is a better technical player but he cant last 90min. What did simao do in the national team for the WC 06 and euro 08... Well the answer is.... not much!
Nunes is in a good form, but he's too old to call up
