Video: Nani stunner lifts United

Manchester United 1-0 Bursaspor

Portuguese international Nani was once again decisive for Manchester United this evening, scoring the only goal of the game as the Red Devils beat Bursaspor at Old Trafford.

On a night somewhat overshadowed by coverage of Wayne Rooney’s seemingly impeding departure from the club, United were handed a much-needed boost after just seven minutes when Nani turned his marker and beat Dimitar Ivankov with a superb left-footed shot.

It proved a rare highlight of a forgettable performance from the hosts, but all three points means United now have a two-point lead at the top of Group C. Nani’s fellow Portuguese, Bebe, was handed a place on the substitutes bench, but the close nature of the scoreline meant the former Vitoria Guimaraes man was not introduced.

Nani now has five goals in his last seven matches for club and country, and following the match, United boss Alex Ferguson praised the former Sporting man’s recent development. “He’s getting better. He’s adding a goal ratio to his game, which is important,” said the Scot.

“He’s got great feet; he’s got courage; he’s quick; he loves playing and he loves training. So a lot of these things are coming together for the lad and we’re pleased about that.”

Picture this...Nani and Ronaldo on the wings as per usual, but with Bebe (who hasn't really been featured, but hopeful thinking makes him an unstoppable force up front)
Come on! this can only culminate in a Portuguese force too strong to match by any country. We have the world class names, now all that's necessary is the stage to showcase this...welcome the Euro's and beyond.

Wayne Who? Nani is a much much better player. Since the goal against Arsenal he has rocketed to the top. He should get a new contract and become the poster boy. He has certainly developed under Sir Alex. Rooney is finished, he will never be the same. He is not good for our image and he is even worse for our results. The d**k says we don't have enough quality. His only goal is from the spot. Trying to take the focus off his performance and blaming the club's poor ability to attract good players. Another dumb scouse.

Nani is a match winner. Well done lad!

It's such a good feeling to see him finally stepping up after Ronaldo's departure. Now, he will need to fill the goal-scoring hole left by Rooney when he leaves. His good form means nothing but good things for Portugal.
Wow

I felt that his not participating in the World Cup was really going to hurt us but in hindsight maybe it was better off that he missed it.
Euro 2012 and in Brazil in 2014 however will be a different story. This man is really going to shine!

When I saw the scoreline, I bet it was Nani.. and look who it is. No surprise. A left footed shot right into the corner. Untouchable. It is great to witness our best players dominating in the competitive leagues.
Nani is Coming of Age

He's arguably the best player in the premier league along with Cesc Fabregas. He's leading in assists in the EPL, and he's United's top scorer. But he still isn't getting enough recognition.

Rooney who?

If Nani isn't assisting he's scoring, he is currently Man Utd's top player and he's really proving to be one of the best wingers in the world today and I want to see more this play.
Good Job
