Man Utd’s Nani backs Ashley Young signing“It’s good for the team” Nani says he is not concerned by Manchester United’s signing of England winger Ashley Young, following speculation that the new arrival at Old Trafford could have an effect on the Portuguese international’s future.
Young completed a big-money move to United last week, signing a five-year deal with the Premier League champions. As a result, various media outlets have suggested the transfer could have direct implications on Nani, who despite being voted the United Players’ Player of the Year has been linked with a host of clubs across the continent. “Of course I have to welcome everyone they sign, I think Man United is a fantastic club,” Nani told reporters when asked about his situation. “When they bring in new players, they know if it is good for the team or not, and this (Young signing) has to help them. It is good for the team; we want more (players) to help us to win trophies. “I've been there (at United) when Cristiano was there, Cristiano was one of the best players in the world. At that moment (I had no) worries about him (taking my place).” “Now I'm on holiday for some rest, to get my power back. At the start of the season I will be fine to start strong again, start to do what I know.” Follow PortuGOAL on Twitter and Facebook |

hates him including sir Alex Ferguson because of his skill, arshly young, valencia, rooney and most of the players at man u ar no much to him, i wonder why he is being kept on bench, it pains me so much, thanx,,, alicks
I think the solution is for Nani to leave and play for another big club but that is easier said than done. He wouldn't play at Madrid or Barcelona, shouldn't move to Italy (a notoriously difficult environment for the Portuguese style of play) and will face the prospect of intense scrutiny and ridicule if he goes to one of Man United's rivals in England. If he stays at United though, he's just going to get benched. At best he'll play about as much as he did before last season, which is to say whenever the favorites are injured or tired. I think he could bring a lot to United, but SAF isn't interested. It's kinda similar to what happened with Berbatov. He was the premier league's top scorer but found himself on the bench for many of their biggest games, including the final when he didn't even make the squad. That's just how SAF is.
Nani is more talented than Valencia, Cole, Park, etc..... but he fails to provide the consistency that SAF demands. Until he does that, he'll be used sparingly. It's a shame too because I feel like Nani would start every game for almost any other team in the world. I think it's time for him to branch out and try something new.
and how about meireles??liverpool haven't offered him a new contract yet..will he stay in liverpool next season??i can't believe this.,,,his contribution to liverpool is really huge this season.
I still say he is better off playing at Man United than moving elsewhere. He should be fighting for his spot and build on last season. He still disapears too many times or tries to do too much. It's a fine balance between the two, but there is no reason why he can't find that balance.
I have never been a fan of Young. He basically only has pace and not much else. He's a little better than Djalo, and that's not a compliment.
I also think that SAF might deloy Young like Capello does for Englands squad, which is in the middle of the field.
