Video: Superb Makukula off and running again in TurkeyTrabzonspor 1-3 ManisasporHaving spent last season on loan from Benfica to fellow Turkish outfit Kayserispor, Makukula signed a three-year contract with Manisaspor in August for an undisclosed fee. The Congolese born striker made his debut for his new team last week in their 2-1 home defeat to Antalyaspor. Searching for their first points of the new season, things got off to a bad start for Manisaspor in Trabzon when Selcuk Inan put the hosts ahead on 9 minutes with a well placed shot from inside the area. Makukula levelled four minutes before the break, nodding in from close range, and Josh Simpson turned in a cross from the left to have the visitors in front at half time. The best was yet to come, as Makukula got his second midway through the second half with a sensational long-range strike. Receiving the ball over twenty-five metres from goal, the Portuguese international moved forward and shifted onto his right foot before unleashing an unstoppable drive that flew into the top corner. I feel that Nelson Oliveira is our best young striker so hopefully he can get a lot of playing time for Pacos Ferreira and force his way into Benfica.
