Maritimo not intimidated by Benfica

Madeira side to give their all in opening weekend

olberdam_benfica.jpgOlberdam feels that he and his colleagues have nothing to lose come this weekend when Martitimo pay a visit to the Estadio da Luz to kick off their 2009/10 campaign and warns that the team will not back down in any capacity when they lock horns with Benfica.

The Verde-Rubros have not done all that well at the Lisbon giants' home ground, as Maritimo have lost 25 out of 29 matches at the Luz, posting one victory and their only win came in 1987. But despite the lopsided record, it is meaningless according to Olberdam and company.

"Our rule is to dispute each and every occurrence from the first minute to the last," said the midfielder. "It comes as no surprise to anyone that Benfica are an excellent team with international players at the highest level."

"But we also had a good pre-season and will do everything so that we can have a say about what happens with the three points. We will give our all with strength and determination."

I can't wait to see Benfica to start off the season with a win.
