Kleber determined on making EuropeMaritimo striker maintains hope They are on the outside looking in, but Maritimo are still hopeful on qualifying for the Europa League next season, despite the fact that their destiny is not entirely in their own hands.
The verde-rubros are five points out of the final European berth, but still have to face Vitoria Guimaraes on the final day of the 2009/10 season. Kleber understands that the minhoto side will dictate what happens to that final spot, but still refuses to give in. "We are aware that it will be very difficult, but we still will continue to work towards it. If Guimaraes happens to slip in their next game (against Rio Ave), we still have to play them and, maybe, we will end up with a Europa League spot," said the Brazilian. Also standing in Maritimo's way is Vitoria de Setubal as the sadinos pay a visit to the Barreiros this weekend and the Bonfim side will want to earn maximum points to ensure they remain in the Portuguese top flight. "It won't be easy. We have to go into the match with the objective to win, despite them being a strong, organised team. Setubal will give everything they have, but we have to match them in every aspect." by Marco Pereira Add your comment |
