Nacional secure Orlando Sa loanAlvinegros beat out island rivals Maritimo for striker Nacional were successful in acquiring the services of striker Orlando Sa as the Madeira outfit beat local rivals Maritimo for the FC Porto owned marksman.
It was a toss up for weeks as to where Sa would end up as there appeared no room within the Porto ranks for the Portuguese international. Both Nacional and Maritimo were locked in a hard fought battle as both sides try to firm up their squads ahead of the 2010/11 Liga Zon Sagres season. Maritimo might have thought that they had the edge as Porto are trying to land striker Kleber and successfully agreed a deal with Atletico Mineiro, but the verde-rubros actually hold the key in the transfer and have been standing firm throughout the negotiation process. The fact that Sa will be playing at the Choupana just might have given Maritimo more reason not to relinquish the Brazilian forward that Porto have sought after. by Marco Pereira |
