Nacional sign up-and-coming Senegalese star

Deal for centre-back Claudio Perez aborted

AbdouNacional have snapped up Senegalese midfielder Abdou on a five-year contract. Meanwhile, the deal for central defender Claudio Perez has fallen through.
 
20-year-old Abdou played for Braga’s youth team in 2007/2008, and the following season was loaned out to lower-league club Ribeirao. His fine performances did not go unnoticed, and Nacional have jumped at the chance to bring the promising youngster into the fold.
 
As for Perez, the big defender had been announced amid a degree of fanfare. He was seen as the natural replacement for centre-back Maicon, who was sold to FC Porto this summer, but the Argentine will now not be joining the club. No official explanation for the collapse of the deal has been provided.
