Naval sack Victor ZvunkaFrench coach pays for poor run of results![]() Victor Zvunka has been relieved of his duties as Naval coach. The Figueira da Foz club currently lie in 14th place in the standings, having accumulated just four points from their opening six matches.
Zvunka was new to Portuguese football this season, having been contracted in the summer. One of the reasons the club went for a French coach was owing to the fact the squad contains six players from that country, including influential captain Godemeche.
The deposed coach has yet to comment on his sacking, but will surely feel he has not been given a fair chance to show what he could do. Three of the four defeats suffered by Naval were against sides currently lying 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the Liga ZON Sagres, with the other coming against Sporting.
Zvunka becomes the second managerial casualty this season. Mitchell Van der Gaag was sacked by Maritimo last week.

After an exptensive manager search and a lot research, Naval hired Zvunka.
After three games he is the reason for the losses.
This is shameful. How is a manager supposed to incooperate his tactics in three games?
If the team didn't show anything, then maybe the "Board" is at fault?
Absolutely crazy and shameful.
This will also mean that only a desperate manager will take the job. Luckly for Naval there will be plenty available in Portugal.
Glad im not a football coach, a contract doesnt mean anything anymore, disgusting treatment.
Nice to give the guy a chance to work on his system. That is a fairly brutal start to a season but it wasn't against easy opposition.
What is the next coach going to think given the way this club runs?
No doubt crashing and burning out of Europe hurt.
