Naval expects tough season openerFigueira da Foz club welcomes Olhanense Naval will head into this season looking to improve the table position they earned last season when the club finsihed in 13th place, 5 points from the drop zone. The Navalistas are at home to Liga new boys Olhanense, but goalkeeper Jorge Baptista is not taking the Algarve club for granted as he expects a difficult contest this Sunday. "It will be a difficult match as Olhanense are a strong team - they have an adundance of players who have come up from the academies, namely FC Porto's," said the Naval netminder. "As a result of this, they will want to show why they are in the top flight and it is up to Naval to contradict their predisposition." Baptista added that pre-championship jitters tend to set in whenever the season is about to start, but thinks that it is a good thing as it means that players are focused on the task at hand. "It is normal to anticipate and be anxious at the beginning of the championship, but that is positive as it obligates us to think about the forthcoming match and raise the levels of concentration." by Marco Pereira Add your comment |
