Augusto Inacio appointed new Naval coach

“Objective is to win games and earn points”

Augusto InacioFormer championship winning coach, Augusto Inacio, was named the new Naval coach this Monday. The Figueira da Foz club wasted little time in replacing Ulisses Morais, who was sacked last week.

Inacio led Sporting to the Portuguese title in 1999/2000, but has failed to emulate that success elsewhere.

“This invitation honours me and has come at a good time for several reasons, even of a personal nature, which led me to accept the challenge,” said Inacio.

“The objective is clear: to win games and earn points. Only as such can Naval continue along the road they have been travelling these last few years.”

During his unveiling the new boss was flanked by other members of the coaching team. Joao Costido will be the goalkeeper coach, while Fernando Mira will be Inacio’s number two.
