Olhanense strengthen with triple capture

Algarve team prepare for fight for survival

OlhanenseOlhanense have announced the signing of three players as the Algarve team attempt to build a squad capable of keeping them in the Portuguese top flight. Two forwards, Marcel Gomis and Jailson, and centre-back Sandro will line up for the newly promoted side.

Senegalese winger Gomis is 21 years old and returns to the club after playing for Olhanense between 2006 and 2008, before embarking on a brief adventure in Russian with Shinnik.

He has put pen to paper on a 3-year contract. Brazilian striker Jailson has already played under Olhanense coach Jorge Costa when the former Porto star was in charge at Braga. The 28-year-old has signed a one-season deal.

Centre-back Sandro makes the switch from Leixoes, where he played 11 matches last season. The 26-year-old has also agreed to a one-year contract. Olhanense start their pre-season schedule on 6 July.
