North Korea narrowly lose in Mexico

Portugal’s World Cup opponents continue preparation

North KoreaNorth Korea played another friendly yesterday in preparation for the upcoming South Africa World Cup, losing 2-1 against Mexico in the city of Torreon.

After a goalless first half the hosts took the lead on 50 minutes through veteran forward Cuauhtemoc Blanco. The Koreans hit back just five minutes later as Choe Kum Chol found the net.

On 68 minutes Javier Hernandez scored the winning goal for Mexico.

It was North Korea’s second match in quick succession in the Americas. Two weeks ago the Asian nation drew 1-1 against Venezuela.

North Korea are Portugal’s second opponents at the 2010 World Cup, with Ivory Coast and Brazil making up Group G.

The N Korea goal was a very average shot that took an odd bounce that the goalie misjudged ompletely

Cmon, NK will lose easily to Portugal, I say about 3-0. Our ONLY concern is the need to beat Ivory Coast, who also look in trouble at the moment. We will be fine in the group stages at least.........bring on June 11th........WC2010.

They seem to be that average team. We know Portugal is better. It is disappointing that we wont be facing anyone tough leading up to the WC. The LB is vulnerable. Carlos Queiroz is an idiot.
