We play to win - Paulo Sergio

Pacos prepare for battle at Alvalade

paulosergio2.jpgPacos de Ferreira will travel to Lisbon to face Sporting and are hopeful that they can pull off an upset this weekend. Paulo Sergio believes that his pupils can come away with a win despite the opposition.

"We expect to encounter a lot of difficulties as it will be a very difficult match, but not just for us. We have demonstrated in every match this season that we play to win," said the assertive coach.

"They speak of Sporting's instability, but that means nothing to us. Every team, when they get on the field, forget the problems that exist. Instability could appear, but that is due to what we manage to do during the match and not because of any external circumstances."

Sergio is almost relentles when it comes to Pacos' abilities, and his expecations, as the Portuguese tactician only has one thing on his mind and that is a victory.

"A draw is a good result after we analyse how the match went. When a team has been superior, a point leaves a bitter taste. But if the adversary were better, it ends up being satisfactory."

"The image that I want Pacos to have is of a team that is compact when they don't have the ball and our eyes on the adversary's net when we do have possession."

"In relation to the principles of the game, there has been an acceptable evolution from the team. We have been a bit lower from what our intentions have been in terms of efficiency. We have to transform our opportunities into goals."
