Pacos remain fearless ahead of Benfica

Pacense to make Lisbon side work for win

paulosergio2.jpgBenfica will travel to the Mata Real to face an unyielding Pacos de Ferreira. The fixture may be a banana skid type match for the high-flying Aguias and Pacos will do everything to ensure that is exactly what it will be.

Pacos coch Paulo Sergio's is not so much concerened with his opponent on Monday night, but more about his own team's performance as the tactician has stressed that his side will be going all out for a victory.

The northern side have made two out of the big three teams in Portugal work for their results as Pacos drew with FC Porto in the opening weekend and suffered a marginal loss to Sporting. Sergio will look for his pupils  to continue their obstinate ways against Benfica and, hopefully, use the Lisbon outfit's mid-week loss to AEK Athens to his advantage.

"I will promise that we will go toe-to-toe with Benfica, but if this does not happen, it will be due to the merit of the adversary," said Sergio. "It will have to be them who obligates us."

Pacos are coming off their first win of the season last weekend against Vitoria Setubal, but Sergio knows that his side will have to be much better if they want to pull off an upset against Benfica.

"I have been satisfied with the team's performances in matches where we have not won, but we were clearly more dominate. At Setubal, we created more opportunties to score, but we also created two or three infantile errors, which we are not accustomed to making and ones we cannot repeat against Benfica."
