Brito expects a formidable FC PortoRio Ave coach hopes to take advantage of adversary's poor form Carlos Brito is not about to fall into any false sense of security when his side takes on FC Porto in the semi-final of the Portuguese Cup. But the Rio Ave boss does hope that Porto continues their stumbling ways tomorrow night.
The wily Brito will welcome the wounded Dragons to the Vila da Conde, but will ensure that his side are on their guard and look to pour further misery onto their opponents in order to get a leg up in the first of two meetings between the clubs. "The (bad) moment that FC Porto are undergoing is the result, in my opinion, of important absentees within their team. Despite this, I don't expect a weakened FC Porto, but it is true they are not going through a good patch," explained Brito. "Porto are always a candidate to win all the competitions that they participate in and because of this, I expect them to be a strong adversary. "Normally, these big teams don't play two bad games consecutively in front of the same opposition. If it were just one match, anything would be possible, namely if the match was just to be played in our stadium. "We have to be extremely focused and play our very best. If we think that FC Porto will arrive weakened, we will be halfway to a defeat." by Marco Pereira Add your comment |
