Ze Antonio rescinds with Racing SantanderPlayer on lookout for new club Portuguese defender Ze Antonio has brought an end to a troublesome stint in Spain with Racing Santander by agreeing to terminate his contract with the club.
The 32-year-old has been in negotiations to release himself from his current deal for several weeks, having reported the club in October for their failure to keep up his salary payments, and the parties came to an agreement on Wednesday. “From today, he can sign for any club,” said Ze Antonio’s lawyer Manuel Higuera, who indicated that his client was happy with the outcome, although refused to reveal the details of the agreement, specifically with regard to the unpaid wages. Former Porto and Academica man Ze Antonio previously played in Germany with Borussia Monchengladbach, before joining Racing in 2008, where he has featured little and had been training with the club’s B team for much of the current campaign.
