Mourinho extends with Madrid

Special One to remain at the Bernabéu until 2016

Real Madrid have this afternoon confirmed that José Mourinho will remain as coach of the club until June 2016, after signing a contract extension. In a short statement posted on the club's website, the Spanish champions announced: "Real Madrid CF and José Mourinho have reached an agreement to extend the latter's contract with the club until 30 June 2016."

The announcement follows a period of speculation over Mourinho's future, but after a season which saw Madrid reclaim the title from Barcelona, is hardly surprising. Neither Madrid nor Mourinho have released any further comment, but despite falling at the penultimate hurdle in the Champions League, 2011/12 was an undoubted triumph for the Merengues

Mourinho's Madrid have broken a plethora of records: most games won in a single La Liga season (32), most goals scored (121), and the most points obtained by a title-winning side in Europe this season to name just three. With his power and influence at the club now all but uncontested, today's news signals the continuation of the Mourinho era at the Bernabéu.

Was lucky enough to watch RM beat Barcelona live at the Campnou last month and that was no small feat, Mourinho out thought Pep in that game as he did most of the season.

Has proven without doubt that he is the best mind in the game at the moment and we are lucky to see this unfold in our life time.

Was very happy to hear that he extended with RM and look forward to seeing them dominate La Liga for the next few seasons.

Champions league title will come as long as he has time to build the team.

Good luck Mou we are proud of you and what you have done to put Portugal on the Map.

Wait...what? Pep is the one that ran away from Jose. Pep was the one to quit (take a break from the game), not Mourinho. There is no quit in Mourinho, and rightly so. Mourinho has won titles before Guardiola, and will win titles after Guardiola is long gone, because that's how he rolls.

Great news for Real I suppose, but it has dented my hopes of Mourinho one day managing the Sadinos and Seleccao :(

He'll defiantely win the Champions League with being committed to perfecting Real Madrid, hearing news they want Falcao or Neymar, I would take the latter of the two. Neymar isnt as disciplined and is too fancy with the ball, not really team committed, Falcao would be a excellent choice. Huguain going to Chelsea looks like it. But anyways good for Mourinho, he is the greatest coach ever, better than Fergeson, yea I said it!...

Oh and btw... that CNN interveiw wioth ronaldo he saying that he is better than Messi?..hes right...you put Messi in the English League, theyd would destroy him. He hasnt done anything outside of Barcelona and Argentina..
Fernandes??

I heard the latest news about him..it's being said that besiktas officially has released him as they can't pay his wages..so he's free agent right now..is it true? I'm sorry this is an off topic question..

The Special One cannot simply leave a Club before winning the Champions League. However, Chelsea is the only exception to that rule, but at least they made the CL Final that year against United lol.
Mou/Ronaldo Era

Most coaches get axed at Real if the impression is that they are getting too much control of the club, even their last coach that won Real their last Champions League was fired because the fear was he was getting too much control.

All season there has been some serious questions about Mou getting so much power at Real. You’ve had directors leave and former figures who had good say in matters about the club forced to leave because of Mou’s desire to control more of the actions at the club. Now with this extension it could finally put an end to some of the people within Real that were trying to destabilize him.

With Barca changing their coach, this could is a period where Mou could turn the tables on Barca. This could also put Roanldo back as the main player and Messi trailing him.
