Rio Ave weary of Uniao de LeiriaBrito expects tough away match The hour approaches to officially kick-off the 2009/10 season, teams are sizing up, not only their own squads, but their opposition as well. Although, neither team will be in action tonight, Rio Ave will travel to one of the Euro-2004 showpieces as they take on Uniao de Leiria at the stunning Estadio Dr. Magalhaes Pessoa.
Carlos Brito is ready for any surprises that Leiria will throw at his team as he expects a hungry and determined set of players on the oppositie side of the pitch, to prove that they deserve a spot in the Portuguese top flight.. "We have to respect the adversary and do everything we can to obtain a positive result," said Brito. "Leiria are a motivated team for having gained promotion and motivation is an important factor." "They are an adversary who will want to have a good debut and the home field advantage can be a determining factor as well."
