Setubal release Danilo and MateusFinancial crisis hits club hard
The Sadinos are in quite a mess as the club do not have a board of directors, sponsors or prospects that suggest they can recover from their dire situation. As a result, the best option was to let go of any monetary liabilities. The squad has not received any part of their salary for the last four months and Setubal have resorted to shedding as much debt as possible. Danilo and Mateus were seen as viable options to help the club do that. Unless an injection of funds surfaces, more contracts are expected to be rescinded over the next few weeks as the club appears in real danger of closing their doors for good. by Marco Pereira

Estrela da Amadora are not the only club undergoing financial woes as Vitoria Setubal are right there alongside them. The Bonfim club are unable to cope with the stresses of running a professional club and have resorted to releasing two of their midfielders - Danilo and Mateus.
