Setubal able to pay part of team's salariesClub covers some of their debt
The Setubal players have not seen their wages paid in the last four months, but yesterday were delighted to know that money will be entering their bank accounts. The team recognises that they are not out of the woods yet, but still happy that they are able to breathe a little and make ends meet. "Thank God we managed to get a certain amount of money forwarded to us which, until now, will give some some tranquility until the end of the season," said central defender Robson. Club executive Fernando Pedrosa was vague when asked about the origins of the money, but feels that the Bonfim side will have more come the end of the championship. "What I know is that not one group of socios (club memebrs) had paid their quotas to help the club. I presume that this money, probably, comes from gate receipts because, depite everything, Vitoria are still generating money from ticket sales." by Marco Pereira Add your comment |

Vitoria Setubal announced on Wednesday that the club have paid part of the players' outstanding salaries. The club did not disclose where the money came from or how much was actually settled, but that they were able to fulfil part of their financial obligations.
