Azenha face-to-face with Setubal crisis

Newly appointed coach has little to work with

Carlos AzenhaCarlos Azenha is finding it extremely difficult preparing Vitoria Setubal for the upcoming season as the Portuguese coach is encountering how cash-strapped the club really is.

Azenha left FC Porto to take the position at Setubal in his first ever head coach job, but has admitted that the problems that are plauging the club are directly interfering with his ability to properly prepare the team.

"I am not going to lie, the situation is much more complicated than I had anticipated," bemoaned Azenha. "The club does not have the financial capacity to buy a single player and does not even have one player whom they have scouted."

"The club also has 20 players who are at the end of their contract. At best, the situation is lamentabe."

I totally agree with Paulo. Clubs like Setubal and Estrela should be relegated. Liga Sagres has very little validity with teams like these participating. Estrela and Setubal can not compete when the are in complete financial crises. They will basically be competing with junior squads next season. Bring up stronger clubs from the liga Vitalis instead. I.e Belenenses and Santa Clara.

This is a disgrace! how can the FFP allow the club to be in Super Liga. The club should be deducted points now before the start of the season. How can this league be taken serious if clubs are like this!
