Setubal bring in Joao Pimenta

Sporting Covilha winger returns to top flight

Setubal have snapped up Sporting Covilha winger Joao Pimenta. The 23-year-old was a free agent and has signed a contract until the end of the season.

The left winger is the latest addition to Carlos Azenha’s squad. The Setubal coach has been forced to build a team with virtually zero funding, and Pimenta could be a useful addition if he can bring his form in the lower leagues to the top flight. 

It is not the first time the Portuguese player has been in the top division. He played for Naval in 2006/07, scoring one goal in eight matches, before moving on to Portimonense and Sporting Covilha.
