Vitoria Setubal bring in 10 new faces

Club overcome bleak financial state

Carlos AzenhaAs Supertramp would have said, "Crisis? What Crisis?" Vitoria Setubal opened pre-season training and have added ten new players to the roster, much to coach Carlos Azenha's delight, despite previously stating that the club had no money to bring in any new bodies.

Joining the Bonfim side are Ricardo Matos (Varzim), Miguel Rosa (Ayamonte), Luis Matos (Estoril), Djikine (Sporting Covilha), Lourenco (Beira-Mar), Bruno Monteiro (Boavista), Vasco Varao (Fatima) and Rui Varela & Adul Balde (Estrela da Amadora).

Rounding out the list is Joao Pimenta, but the club already announced snapping up the forward earlier this week. New Setubal boss Azenha is radiating with excitement as the coach's situation did appear bleak at one point.

"These are our warriors and with them we will enter th fight," attested Azenha. "I am not preoccupied that we have been called fragile."

"I do not deny that it will be a difficult season, but it is up to us to prove our capabilities."

"Me and my staff are confident that Vitoria will achieve its objectives and we propose, in principal, to do more than just stay in the top flight."
